Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I sign up for the waitlist?

You can be added to our waiting list quickly by filling out this google form.

If I choose to get on the waiting list, how long is the wait time to see a therapist?

A therapist will contact you using the email address/phone number you have provided when they have availability. Currently, the wait time is approximately three to eight weeks to see the first available therapist. Wait times for specific therapists may be longer. Wait times for kids and teens may be longer as not all therapists work with younger age groups. However, our graduate intern therapists are accepting clients at the moment with immediate availability and are supervised by some of our therapists with longer wait times. Thank you for your patience.

What do I do if I am in crisis and can’t wait that long?

What happens when a therapist contacts me?

A therapist will call or email you when they have availability and arrange for a consultation. After the consultation, if you would like to move forward in working with that therapist, you’ll be asked to fill out intake forms and provide insurance and ID cards, get set up in our system and have your insurance coverage verified by Connally Counseling administrative staff, then be able to schedule appointments directly with your therapist.

What kinds of insurance do you accept?

We accept Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Care Network, Medicare, Physicians’ Health Plan, Tricare East, and some United Healthcare plans. We are out of network with Tricare East.

Please note: we can’t guarantee that we will accept your insurance until we’ve done a full verification of your insurance benefits. One reason is that some insurers have what is called a “carve out,” in which they subcontract with another insurance company for mental health benefits, and that insurance may not be one that we accept. Each insurer has many different plans with differing levels of coverage.

What if you don’t accept my insurance?

There are various self-pay options available that can be discussed in the event that we can’t accept your insurance. Also, for self-pay clients, we can provide what is called a “Superbill” (a bill that includes diagnosis and procedure codes) that you can submit to your insurance company to seek reimbursement.

What do I do if I want to see a specific Connally Counseling therapist?

The waitlist form allows you to check off the therapist(s) you would like to work with. Therapist bios can be viewed here.

What if I am not comfortable with the therapist who contacts me?

If for any reason you are not comfortable working with the therapist who contacts you, you may return to the list to wait for another therapist. You are also free to discontinue services with a therapist at any time. Connally Counseling therapists are all either members of or advocates for the LGBTQIA2+ community, gender-affirming, kink and poly aware, culturally competent, and sensitive to the needs and experiences of neurodivergent people. Connally Counseling serves many LGBTQIA2+ individuals and couples.

Please Note:

Placement on our waiting list is not a guarantee of service. We are doing our best to provide services to as many people as possible, but the demand is at times higher than we can meet. Thank you for your understanding and for your interest in working with Connally Counseling.
